The baldness can be due to age or decreased blood flow sequential to illnesses like anemia, syphilis, or other damage to the nervous system.

Balayage

A highlighting technique in which the color is hand painted onto the hair with a gentle sweeping motion giving a sun-kissed natural look and allows for softer less noticeable regrowth line. This process is different than the average lightening technique because by painting the color directly onto the hair,  usually applied free hand throughout onto the ends of hair directly where the colorist sees fit. The use of various shades a natural and unique  color is achieved. Balayage creates depth and dimension, and leaves you with a sun-kissed finish. Often using color that is present in the hair, foils are used for more control.

Cortex

Dandruff

White pieces of scaly skin usually appears in the hair or scalp. It is characterized by itchiness and dry scalp.

Glycolic Smoothing System

A semi-permanent smoothing solution for textured hair which offers two finishes Sleek &  Smooth or Curl Controller. It reduces frizz and increases manageability. The key ingredients are glycolic acid and carbocystine. These ingredients pentrate the hair shaft, enhances softeness, provide protection, restores and rejuvenates damaged hair. The result last up to 3 months.

Keratin

The protein found in your hair.

Keratin Treatment

A semi-permanent, hair-smoothing, curl-softening professional chemical treatment used to make hair straighter, shinier and even healthier. The treatments are usually made up of a chemical like formaldehyde (which creates the long-lasting smoothing effect), conditioners, and some keratin (a protein our hair is made of to add strength). The results expect to last 2 to 2 1/2 months. The flat-ironing step in the treatment can cause damage.

Medulla

The innermost layer of the hair comprised of round cells.

Melanin

The dark brown or black substance found in skin and hair. It is the natural part of peoples' eyes.

Ombre

Ombre is where your hair color will fade from darker roots to gradually get lighter at the ends (or vice-versa). This gradual change in hair color from root to end generally moves within the same color family. An ombre can be either subtle or bold depending on the colors used it can be quite an obvious gradient, or a more natural effect. The ombre fade effect will normally be on half to two-thirds of the hair, and be in a fairly straight line across the hair.

One Step Color

The hair is lifted and color is deposited in one easy step. Single Process means that a new color or toner is applied all over to create a new base color. It's the most common process and it's great for covering grays and adding shininess to dull hair. One step color means no highlights, lowlights or bleaching just normal color. This is good when you are looking to either darken or lighten your hair by 2-3 shades.

Tinea

A contagious skin disease caused by vegetable parasites. These parasites are fungus. Tinea is common know as ringworm because of the red ring-like itchy balding patches.
